Slingshot industrial designers and engineers developed the Craftsman 18V Convertible Cordless Garden Tool line. This product line is the first rechargeable, interchangeable garden power tool set to reach the market. The line, which includes a power handle, hedge trimmer, line trimmer, pole saw, and blower, allows users to maintain their gardens efficiently and cleanly.
The development effort for these products involved a massive ideation effort including user research, aesthetic development, ergonomic development, engineering development and analysis, and prototyping. One of the key challenges of the program was to develop proper ergonomics and balance that works for all four tools.
